For more information about CBT:
These problems can have a very negative impact on your quality of life, affecting important areas of your life such as relationships, work, health. Some of the consequences of these problems include avoidance of places or situations, procrastination, irritability, withdrawal, reduced motivation and interest in activities, over thinking (worrying, ruminating, self-criticising), poor and disturbed sleep, increased levels of tension, aches and pains, reduced energy levels, and reduced/poor performance.
CBT is a brief, time-limited therapy which looks at bringing about a reduction in your distress by developing an understanding of your problems and what is maintaining them, and works on changing unhelpful and/or problematic patterns of thinking and behaviour in order to work towards your treatment goals.
